Sylvia Rosborough Obituary
We are deeply saddened to share the news of Sylvia May Jean (Bell) Rosborough’s passing, beloved wife of the late Colin Rosborough for 70 years, which occurred on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Tucker Hall. Born on May 3, 1934, in McAdam, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Pearl Bell.
Sylvia held many roles throughout her life, but to our family, she was our cherished Matriarch. Known for her wonderful sense of humor and her love of shopping, she also shared with her husband a lifelong love of basketball. In their later years, once their days of playing on the court were over, they enjoyed their role as “couch coaches” for the Toronto Raptors. Sylvia loved to have fun. She loved crafts, painting, story-telling, dancing, jokes, and most of all sharing time with family and friends. Christmas was one of her favorite times of the year. She enjoyed giving and receiving presents. While we will profoundly miss her warmth and laughter during the holiday season, we find solace in knowing she has been reunited with her beloved husband, Colin, whom she had longed for since his passing in 2022.
Sylvia is lovingly remembered by her devoted daughters, Rhonda Cusack (Mark) and Kim Legge (the late Bruce), as well as her three grandchildren: Chelsea (Jamie), Colin (Kiersten), and Alexander (Amanda), and her great-grandson, Maxwell. She is also survived by her sister, Coleen (Gary) Graham, her nieces, Krista (Mike) Graham, Alicia (Jamie) Walls, Patti (Adam) Curry.
In addition to her parents, husband Colin, and son-in-law Bruce Legge, Sylvia was predeceased by her sister, Heidi.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Sylvia’s niece Krista and the entire team at Tucker Hall – Portland Court for the care and compassion they provided to Mom during her time there.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home at 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal visitation or funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. David’s United Church, Kennebecasis Valley Food Basket or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
