Sandra Baxter Obituary
With broken hearts, the family of Sandra Jean Baxter, 74, of Saint John, announces her peaceful passing on April 27th at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones.
Prior to Sandy’s courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, she dedicated her life to being a wonderful mother and friend. She supported her children through every obstacle they faced. She loved gardening and bird watching. Sandy had a passion for reading and listening to music. She enjoyed going for car rides that turned into adventures with Aunt Pat. Sandy had an affinity for the ocean and felt most at peace watching and listening to the waves. But her biggest love, besides her family and friends, was dogs – she always had many treats on hand.
In her earlier years Sandy was a force to be reckoned with, she was known as B.B, and those who knew her would know why. Then she met the love of her life, Art, and they enjoyed camping at Washademoak Lake with family and friends, they were actively involved in the Berwick Couples Club.
She will be deeply missed by her children Amanda (Jeff) Baxter; Christopher (Sammie) Baxter; her beloved granddaughter Katie and Katie’s mother Erica; siblings Bob (Donna) Barnett; Cheryl (Larry) Black; Nadine Barnett, sisters-in-law Lois (Darryl) Trevena; Joyce Baxter and brother-in-law Beverly (Brenda) Baxter, special Meme to Jessica, Deziary and Arianna; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family, very special Aunt Pat, her unofficially adopted son Kristopher Kinghorne, and her dog Harley.
Sandy was predeceased by her husband Arthur, parents Russell & Jean (Mitchell) Barnett and parents- in-law George & Mable (Long) Baxter, her brothers- and sister-in-law Carl & Darlene (Norrad) Baxter and Russell Baxter, and her niece Kim Friars
In keeping with Sandy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date. In lieu of donations, Sandy has requested that you take a friend to lunch in her memory.
