Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the expected yet unbelievably hard to take passing of Rachel Tina Caron on October 25, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born in Hartford, Connecticut on May 25, 1981, to her parents, Ken and Diane (Michaud) Caron and was the loving wife of 11 years to her husband, Anthony Fillmore.
Rachel worked in the Patient Information and Locating department of the Saint John Regional Hospital for the last 16 years and was very popular with her coworkers and very good at her job. She was an amazing woman who didn’t like to be the centre of attention but often couldn’t avoid it when her giggle started to set everyone giggling too. She was very caring, empathetic and would help anyone in need. Rae was fiercely loyal to the people she loved and those who loved her, loved her dearly. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her sons, Sage Xavier and Vincent Fillmore; stepson, Cole Maillet; brother, Adam; a niece and a nephew as well as her four kitties, Poppy, Etta, Cheech and Otis, who she always babied greatly, as well as her in-laws, Jim and Denise Fillmore and brother-in-law, Shane Bowland.
Her family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at the hospital and especially the Locating and ICU departments. You were wonderful to Rachel through her career and her illness, and your kindness will never be forgotten. Also, a massive thank you to her best friend, Chantal, who never left Rae’s bedside while she was in the hospital. She couldn’t have gotten through a lot of her time there without you being by her side and helping her through.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Rachel didn’t want any fanfare so, in keeping with her wishes, no services will take place. For those who wish, any random act of kindness or a gift for Vincent would be appreciated by her family.
