Michael Foster Obituary
With heavy hearts the family of Michael Andre Foster of Saint John, New Brunswick announce his death on October 17,2024 peacefully at home. Born in Saint John, NB on April 30th, 1952. He was the son of the late Allison and Georgette (nee Leblanc) Foster.
Michael is leaving behind his beloved wife Carol Anne with whom he spent almost 50 years together. He was an extremely proud Dad to son Scott (Shelley) Foster of St. Albert, Alberta and daughter Meagan Foster (Dwayne Marcial) of Saint John, NB. Beloved “Poppy” to grandchildren Calla (Dylan), Maleesha, Isaiah, Ashleigh (Greg), Jessica (Clayton), Gunnar and Zachary. Great grandchildren Isabella, Braxton and Oaklyn. Brother Wesley (Bernice) Foster. Sisters Tanya Ring, Cathy (Tony) Herbert, brother-in-law Jim (Catherine) Holder. As well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister-in-law Marilyn J. Munroe, brother-in-law Richard Monroe, as well as several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Mike worked for Sears Canada for 26 years as the Resource Protection Manager. He enjoyed several years as a youth sports photographer (Foster’s Fotos), making many friends and connections throughout the province. It was a great joy to him to watch the children grow and when they would recognize him when they were older as the “picture man” it would make his day. He could also be found behind the counter at the Gorman Arena Canteen or wandering the campground in his golf cart at Pirate’ Cove.. Over the years, he served in many volunteer roles, such as Vice President of Saint John Little League, Coordinator of Saint John Soccer, Vice President of Saint John Minor Hockey Association and President of the Western district Crime Stoppers.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB E2J 2G3. Visitation for Mike will be Sunday October 20th from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00pm. A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, October 21,2024 at 10:30am in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Canon Gregory McMullin.
