Mary Landry Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mary “Rita” Landry, 79, announces her peaceful passing at Kennebec Manor on December 2nd, 2023.
Rita was born on June 21st, 1944, in Saint John, NB, to the late Alexis and Anna (Robichaud) Cyr.
As a stay at home mom caring for 3 sons, Rita also enjoyed, bingo, painting, crafting, playing guitar, singing and music. She had always looked forward to traveling around with her husband Fred to watch him and 2 of their grandchildren perform musically at various events. You could always find Rita wherever there was music, singing, and dancing whether at friends and families homes or going to the various Jams around the city.
Rita took up residence at Kennebec Manor in November 2022 where she enjoyed playing bingo, making crafts and listening to the many musical guests who entertained the residents. She loved her sweets and looked forward to the snack cart making its rounds but especially looked forward to going out for ice cream!
Rita is survived by her husband Fred, 3 sons; Fred Jr “Boo Boo” (Debbie), Terry (Angela), Jeff (Corrie), and her siblings Geralda, Lorraine (Howard), Margaret, Anne, Alex (Ella), Doug (Marie), Raymond (Wanda).
She is also survived by her grandchildren; Alexander (Maryse), Allison (Joey), Nick (Brooklyn), Abby (Coleman), Matthew, Emma and Connor, great granddaughter; Ariel and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents Rita was predeceased by her sisters; Mary, Jeannie and Germaine.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to all of the wonderful and caring staff at Kennebec Manor.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424). As per Rita’s wishes, there will be no formal visitation or service. Donations in memory of Rita can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Alzheimers Society of NB.
