Julianna Melanson Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Julianna Elizabeth Melanson, who left us on Thursday, December 19th, 2024, surrounded by her family, following complications from an unexpected brain aneurysm. Born on November 20, 2014, Julianna brought joy and light into the world from the very first moment and made her birthday a day of endless celebration. She was the cherished daughter of John and Tracey (Creamer) Melanson and the treasured sister of Alivia, with whom she shared a bond like no other.
Julianna was a Grade 5 student at Loch Lomond School, where she was known for her kindness, humor, and deeply caring nature. She made friends effortlessly and loved nothing more than spreading joy and laughter wherever she went. Her heart was as big as her radiant smile, and she had an extraordinary gift for making those around her feel special and loved.
Julianna’s sister, Alivia, was her hero, her confidant, and her best friend. The two were inseparable, creating a lifetime of memories filled with giggles, whispers of secrets, and endless adventures. Whether they were playing together, sharing inside jokes, or simply being by each other’s side, Julianna and Alivia had a bond that was pure and unbreakable—a bond that will forever remain a source of strength and comfort for Alivia.
A gentle and thoughtful soul, Julianna had an uncanny ability to sense when others needed a kind word or a helping hand. She was a true “bucket filler,” always eager to brighten someone’s day with her warm smile, thoughtful gestures, or playful spirit. She loved the simple joys of life, whether it was splashing in the ocean, singing her heart out, playing at the park, or proudly sporting her favorite shorts and Crocs all year round.
Julianna’s fiery red hair, adorable freckles and dimples were just a glimpse of the beauty that shone from within. Her love for life, her compassion for others, and her calming energy made her unforgettable to all who knew her.
Julianna is survived by her devoted parents, John and Tracey, and her adoring sister, Alivia, whose love for Julianna will forever be her guiding light. She will be deeply missed by her maternal grandparents, Chris and Jackie Creamer; her paternal grandparents, Christine Hazelwood (Norman) and Bill Melanson (Ruth); her great-grandparents, Gloria Creamer and Gerald Childs; her aunts and uncles, Lindsay “DD” Khalili (Sammy), Mallory Bramston (Kyle), Billy Melanson, and Jamie Melanson (Claudette); and her cousins Nico, Lucas, Sofia, Sawyer, Reagan, Emily, and Derick, with whom she shared countless adventures, laughter, and love.
Julianna was predeceased by her extra-special cousin, Kourtney Creamer, and her great-grandparents Fernande “Meme” Childs, Don Creamer, Charlie O’Brien, Mary O’Brien, Harvey Melanson, and Ada Melanson who now welcome her into their loving embrace.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the paramedics for their swift and compassionate care and to the extraordinary teams at the Saint John Regional Hospital and IWK. The support and kindness from family, friends, and the community have been a source of immense comfort during this difficult time.
Donations in Julianna’s memory may be made to the IWK, whose warm-hearted care in their PICU left an indelible mark on our hearts.
Julianna will be resting at Fundy Funeral Home, located at 230 Westmorland Road. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26th, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A celebration of Julianna’s beautiful life will take place on Friday, December 27th, at 11:00 AM in the Fundy Chapel.
