Joyce Wilson Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joyce (Jenkins) Wilson announces her passing on January 27, 2024, at the Shannex Embassy Hall in the Valley. Born in Saint John on June 13, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Doris (Cumberland) Jenkins.
Joyce enjoyed the quiet adventures of going for drives out in the country and stepping out for a coffee with friends and family. In her younger years, Joyce spent some time in the Army Reserves, and enjoyed occasionally writing for the King’s County Record “gossip column” for the Peninsula. Most notably, she once did an article for Reader’s Digest.
Joyce is survived by her children: Beth Springer, Chris (Teresa) Wilson, and Lawrence (Tanya) Wilson; grandchildren: Robert Wilson, Cole Springer, and Reid Springer; brothers: Eugene Jenkins, and Donnie (Eleanor) Jenkins; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her brother Steve Jenkins, first husband Chester Wilson, and second husband Hazen Urquhart.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff and volunteers of the Parkland Shannex Embassy Hall for their kindness, care, and compassion.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd., Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, February 5, 2024, at 1PM. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
