John Bastarache Obituary
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of John Joseph Bastarache which occurred on Friday, May 10th, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on July 22nd, 1962, in Saint John, he is the son of the late Donald and Ursula (Hebert) Bastarache. In his earlier years, John worked at the Box Mill. He later worked in Construction and Carpentry. He enjoyed playing guitar, hunting, going for drives, listening to country music and he especially loved Johnny Cash. Family was most important to him. He was a strong family man, he had strong family values and he cherished every moment spent with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
John is survived by his daughter Jennifer Stewart (Anthony Campbell) of Quispamsis; sons Cory Bastarache (Maggie) of Alberta, Josh McIntyre of Saint John; brothers Merle Boucher of Saint John, Paul Bastarache (Jeanne Basque) of Rothesay; sister Susan Bastarache (Dave) of Saint John; companion Brenda Ross; grandchildren Julia, Sophia, Liam and Logan; nieces and nephews Cindy, Courtney and Brandon; great nieces Amelia and Aurora; special cousin which whom he was very close to Dennis Hebert; as well as many cousins and friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). A Memorial Service will be held in the Fundy chapel on Tuesday, May 14th at 10 a.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of John may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice
