Obituary of Irene Patricia O’Blenis
With heavy hearts, the family of Irene O’Blenis, loving wife of the late Wesley George O’Blenis, announce her passing on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at her residence in Turnbull Nursing Home. Born January 2, 1940, in Stratford, PE, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Winnifred (Kelly) McCarron.
Irene was employed with Towers/Zellers for 25 years, before retiring. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of having her in their lives.
Irene is survived by her sons: Michael (Linda), Kevin, and Shane; grandchildren: Dermott, Scout, Chenney, and Stevie O’Blenis; her brother, Ian McCarron; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her parents and her husband, Irene was predeceased by her brothers: Francis, Jack, Gerry, and Donnie; and her sisters, Phyllis Allen and Louise Monaghan.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 23, 2024 at 12:10 pm from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, with interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family and may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
