Helen O’Connor Obituary
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Helen Anne O’Connor on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
She was born to Leo and Evelyn (Mahoney) O’Connor on January 29, 1937. Helen worked in the SPD Department at The Saint John Regional Hospital for many years before spending her retirement living in Liguori House with her many wonderful neighbours and friends.
Helen was a kind, gentle and giving soul. She deeply loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and had a very special bond with each one. Helen was an exceptional example of her Catholic faith to each and and every family member. GOD was the absolute centre of her life.
Helen loved to travel on Pilgrimages to sacred Catholic sites and especially treasured her trip to Medjugorje with her only granddaughter Amy.
Helen is survived by her daughters; Linda Hachey (Thomas), Donna Dutcher (d), Colleen Snow (Wayne), Deborah Webber (Mike) Lori Kempster (Todd) and sons Michael Dutcher (Colleen) and Jeff Dutcher; 10 grandchildren, Amy (d) Timothy, Jonathan, Joshua, Neil, Jordan, Luke, Jonah, and Tyler; 5 great grandchildren, Haylee, Eloise, Brylee, Connor, and Aimee and Helen’s dear brother Eldon O’Connor (Diane) as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her daughter Donna; granddaughter Amy; brothers Gerard and Eugene O’Connor; sister Marilyn; godson Tony DeCourcey; goddaughter Barbie-Jo O’Connor and her very best friend Jean Williams.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) where visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 9:00 am from Holy Redeemer Parish (316 Somerset St.) with internment to follow at a later date. Helen’s request was for any donation to be a Mass card in her name. The greatest gift.
