Obituary of Evelyn Wanetta Curran
With heavy hearts, the family of Evelyn W. (Oldfield) Curran, wife of the late Robert “Bob” Curran, announce her passing on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the age of 103, at her residence in Turnbull Nursing Home. Born in Saint John on March 20, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Waldo and Seneath (Perry) Oldfield.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Bob Curran (Kathy); grandchildren: Jennifer DeSilva (Matthew) and Christopher Curran (Brad Xu); great-grandson, Braedon DeSilva; her sister, Lorna Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, Bob, Evelyn was predeceased by her brothers: Waldo, Burton, Victor, Raymond, and Norman “Penny”; and her sisters: Nina Reinhart, Ella Walker, and Audrey Morton.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff and volunteers at Turnbull Nursing Home for their exceptional care and friendship of Evelyn. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424), with visiting on Monday, November 13, 2023, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 1 pm from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will be held in Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date.
