Obituary of Donald Perley Tingley
On Wednesday November 27th, 2024, Donald Perley Tingley passed away at his home. He was born in Saint John, NB on April 21, 1968.
Donald is survived by his only son Kristopher (Katie) Tingley and his grandchildren Anna and Luke of Browns Flats, his brother Terry (Tanya) Tingley, his sisters Sandra Stewart and Julie (Derek) Baxter, his mother-in-law Georgina Perkins, his sibling-in-laws Karen Perkins and Kimberley (Vince) Cummings, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is predeceased by the love of his life Katherine Tingley (2023), his parents Perley and Florence Tingley, and his father-in-law Lloyd Perkins.
Donald was one of a kind. A dedicated truck driver who seen his job as an adventure every night, working the night shift for Try Als Trucking for over 20 years. He took pride in his work, especially his big truck. It was always kept in pristine condition and ready for every night run, just shining. After his work week he looked forward to his Friday and weekend early morning coffee chats with his many friends at Tim’s. Those mornings were an invaluable support to him.
When Donald wasn’t working, if the weather was nice he would likely be out on his motorcycle. He loved to hit the roads every summer on his bikes on or off road with his many friends. His love for adventure expanded to getting some other toys, even another motorcycle and a side by side. He had a passion for Harley Davidsons, and just like his work truck, and his own truck, you would never find a spec of dirt on anything he owned. Unless maybe his side by side for a few hours, but then it would be cleaned immediately after his excursions. He always looked forward to hitting the back roads and heading to Martin Head with his crew. He had so many cherished friends, but he especially loved spending time with his brother Terry, and his friends Zoey and Randy. They were always such a great support to him and kept him busy through many adventures and days out on the bikes on or off road. Donald always shared the updates of their antics after a weekend of fun.
Donald was a devoted husband and showed his unwavering love and support for his wife Kathy for almost 32 years. Through every hardship or illness, they were always hand in hand ready to take on their next battle. They enjoyed taking trips together to anywhere with a nice beach, and Donald even convinced Kathy to also get a Harley which they spent a lot of their time on the road together. They had many great summers with their friends at the Three Bears Campground that was such a special place for them, the trailer was their little piece of paradise. They truly lived life to the fullest.
Donald was a proud father of his only son Kristopher and loving Grampy to two precious grandchildren Anna and Luke. He enjoyed any time he got to spend with them and of course spoil them. He had such a love for life, and would do anything to make someone smile, which involved a lot of thought out pranks and witty jokes. Too many to list.
He will be missed by all for his contagious smile, laugh, and quick humour. We find comfort in knowing that Kathy and Donald are together again.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). With visiting on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM.
