David Strickland Obituary
David E. Strickland, age 87, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by family.
David was born on July 31, 1936, to Clinton Strickland and Christine Baby in Windsor Ontario. He graduated from Western University with a Bachelor of Arts. David taught English at the Séminaire de Québec (Québec City) for most of his 40 year career. David was an avid sportsman, enjoying sailing, canoeing, swimming, as well as his horses and collies.
David retired and enjoyed several years of travel to Guatemala, Spain, Africa and several European destinations. David & Evelyn moved to NB in 2000 where he enjoyed riding his motorcycles, hiking the Fundy National Park, painting and spending time with family.
David was predeceased by his parents and five siblings. He is survived by his spouse of 58 years, Evelyn (Vieth) Strickland, by his son David (Paula) and daughter Rachel Haslett (Peter), and grandchildren Alexandra, Tyler, Kyra, Morgan & Nick and four great grand children.
There will be no service or visitation held. Donations can sent to Cancer Research or to an animal welfare group of your choice.
