Carol Blois Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Carol Louise (Young) Blois of Saint John, which occurred on Sunday, January 14th, 2024. Born in 1936, she was the daughter of Lorena and W. Edward Young. Carol will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her final moments were spent peacefully at Lily court surrounded by her family. Carol’s loss will be deeply felt by her children Karen (Paul) Bustin, David (Tracy) Blois and Lee (Rina Yabushita) Blois, her grandchildren Ryan (Shelbee), Julia, Nicola, Matt, Trevor, Eric, Tia and by her great-grandson Chase, her niece Lynda and nephew Mike (Daniella), grand-niece Kahleah (Spencer) and grand-nephews Kyle and Jake. Carol was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Clarence Blois and her sister Gail Young.
Carol was a wonderful mother and grandmother who cared deeply for her family and was always there for us when we needed her. She had many interests including bowling where she was a member of the St Ann’s Bowling league for over 50 years, as well as a love for Clogging which she and her sister Gail shared. She loved doing all types of crafts, but tole painting was her favourite pastime. She spent many hours creating wonderful paintings which we will always treasure. Carol had a natural curiosity in life, which extended to technology – we were always the first in the neighborhood to have the latest gadgets. Carol even did her banking online using her Mac computer for many years and dearly loved her iPad on which she played online word games with her friends. She and Clarence had many lifelong friends with whom they loved to travel and got together annually for their ‘friend’s reunions’. Carol would want to be remembered for the joy she brought to her family and friends in life and not the sadness of her passing.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, January 21, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will take place in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, January 22 at 1:00 PM. Interment to take place at Cedarhill Extension Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
