Bruce O’Donnell Obituary
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Bruce Allen O’Donnell, which occurred in Fort MacMurray, AB on Tuesday, May 28th, 2024. Born on November 15th, 1968, in Saint John, he is the son of Phyllis (Brydges) and the late James “Huddy” O’Donnell. Bruce began working at Downey Ford at a young age. He later worked at the Dry Dock as a Steel Fabricator. In 2005, he went to Alberta as part of the Iron Workers before joining Local 146 Boiler Makers Union with his Red Seal in 2015 where he continued his career. Bruce enjoyed dirt biking, four wheeling and snowmobiling. Sundays were for BBQ’s, steaks and Nascar. His kids and grandkids were his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent vacationing with his family and friends. Bruce was the life of the party with his infectious laugh, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Along with his mother, Bruce is survived by his son Jeffrey O’Donnell (Justine) of Saint John; daughter Chelisa O’Donnell (Chris) of Saint John; bother Kevin O’Donnell of Saint John; grandchildren Carter, Cimberlin, Adayah, Baylee, Elijah, Asher and Kaylee.
Along with his father, Bruce was predeceased by his birth mother Linda.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with visitation being held on Thursday, June 13th from 4 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, June 14th from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service in the chapel at 2:30 p.m. Interment will take place at St. Martins Community Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Bruce, may be made to a Memorial Scholarship to the trade of your choice.
