It is with deep sadness that we announce
the passing of Roland “Rollie”
Cook, 87, of Sackville, on September 29,
2024.
Rollie was the son of the late Linus
“Tom” and Florence (Holmes) Cook.
Rollie was a devoted husband to his late
wife, of nearly 65 years, Lillian (Briggs), father, grandfather, great
and great-great grandfather. He loved to tell a good joke or prank his
family and friends. A “quick” trip to the store was never
that, as he always saw and old friend to stop and catch up with. He
could often be found sitting at the kitchen table or in the living
room chair watching the squirrels and birds outside. If he
wasn’t sitting there, he was in the yard filling the bird
feeders or walking around with his loyal companion Skippy following
him.
Rollie will be deeply missed by his
grandson Paul Cole, Dieppe; two great grandsons, Patrick (Robyn) Cole,
Fredericton, and DJ, Moncton; great-great granddaughters Kallie,
Kaylee and Gracie; as well as his brothers Raymond Cook, Keith (Mary)
Cook, Dan (Marlene) Cook, and sisters Mona Emslie and Gerry Craigen; a
son in law, Hartley “Bud” Tower as well as several nieces,
nephews and his cousin and good friend Kenny Holmes.
Besides his parents and wife Lillian,
Rollie was predeceased by his daughter Pamela Armstrong; his
granddaughter Lisa Cole; his brothers John and Eugene and sisters
Deanna and June.
Arrangements are under the care and
supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70
Bridge Street, Sackville, NB. There will be no visitation or
service at this time.
Donations in Rollie’s memory may be made
to the IWK Hospital.
