In the quiet evening hours of May 6,
2024, Jeffrey Raymond Budd, 68, of
Moncton, passed away peacefully at George Dumont
Hospital.
Born in Montreal, he was the son of
Margaret Arlene Palmer ( Budd).
Those who knew Jeff, described him as a
kind and gentle soul who appreciated the simple pleasures: long walks,
enjoying a smoke, drawing, and of course his guitar. Jeff
lived with Schizophrenia most of his adult life, and had more than his
fair share of challenges, yet, everyday was a new day.
As a young adult, Jeff became very
interested in music. He taught himself to play the guitar,
and was dedicated to his practice. His love for classical
music, took him to Nice, France where he studied at the academy of
music, was instructed by Lagoya, played a Robert Bouchet guitar, and
he later recorded for the CBC.
Jeff’s passion for classical guitar was
ever-present and he never gave up his dream.
Jeff is predeceased by his grandparents
John and Nita (Rogers) Budd, and his mother Arlene, all of whom played
a major role in raising him.
Jeff is remembered and celebrated by his
siblings, Aaron Briggs (Heather), Lisa Palmer, Robert Palmer
(Bridget).
Sincere thanks to all the staff at the
George Dumont Hospital, Maison Rennaisance and Moncton Community
Services for their compassion, kindness and exceptional
care.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street,
Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). A private family service will be held at
Birch Hills Cemetery in Berry Mills.
Donations in Jeff’s memory may be sent
to a charity of your choosing.
