Valetta (Helpard)
Halverson of Riverview, passed away suddenly on August
22nd, 2024 at the age of 75, at the Moncton
Hospital. She was born in Halifax to the late Donald
& Olive (Anderson) Helpard.
Val is survived by her
husband of 53 years, Terry Halverson. Her children,
Kerri-Ann (Sylvain), Craig (Theresa), & Ryan. All of
Riverview. Her grandchildren Sidney, Preston,
Emily. And her special grand-dog Lulu. Her sisters
Debbie MacDougall, Sandra Gray, her brother Andy (Nancy) Helpard, and
her Aunt Shaureen Shepherd, a sister-in-law Martha Halverson all of
Halifax, NS and several nieces & nephews.
Along with her parents
she was predeceased by her father-in-law Ervin Halverson,
mother-in-law Annie Halverson. Her brothers-in-law Darren Gray, Danny
McDougall, and Dennis Halverson.
Val was a wonderful
wife, mother, sister, and friend to all that she knew. She
enjoyed family time so much. She loved them all so much.
She spent her younger
years working as a Hairdresser from the time she was 16 years
old. Running the local salon with her mother.
Eventually moving to Moncton and raising her family. Many
ups and downs but always making it! Before retirement she worked for
Ergon Life Center and was proud of the work she did being a part in
helping so many people.
Val loved to make
friends! And would strike a conversation with absolutely anyone that
walked by! Her favourite place was at the Riverview Dog Park
with the 10:00 A.M. crew! As much as it was for the dogs,
she enjoyed the people so much and knew everyone’s name and
stories and would come home and tell us all about them. She
was excited to bring Lulu down to show off her new purple ears and her
fresh baked homemade dog treats.
Our family will miss
our family dinners and Sunday game night. We will continue
to save her seat and take turns rolling the dice for her.

A celebration of life
will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine
