1969 – 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the
passing of Terry Joseph Rhindress, on June 29th, 2024, at the Saint
John Regional Hospital. Born in Amherst, NS, he was the son of Linda
(Landry) and Terry Rhindress.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Cheryl
(Kenna), and his daughter, Cassie. He loved “his girls”
deeply and treasured the time the three of them got to spend
together.
Besides his parents and “girls,” Terry is
survived by his brothers-in-law, Kevin Kenna, Gerard (Barb) Kenna,
Bernie (Ida) Kenna, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and
uncles.
Terry’s passion in life was hockey. He
began playing at a young age and started coaching in his adult years.
Terry was a coach for the Dieppe Comandos, 2011 Canada Winter Games
Team New Brunswick, Bathurst Titans, Bridgewater Lumberjacks, Mount
Allison Women’s Hockey, and Université de Moncton
Women’s Hockey. Additionally, he served as a scout for the
Drummondville Voltages and Bathurst Titans. During this time, he
attended the FISU games in Russia during 2019, as team
Canada’s Women’s Hockey assistant coach. Most
recently, Terry returned to the Moncton Jr B Vito’s as the
head coach for the second time in his career. He took pride in
mentoring athletes and the relationships he formed through the
sport.
Terry also loved the woods; from spending time at
his cabin to four wheeling with the boys, he found joy in nature. He
will be missed greatly by the friends he made while
biking.
Terry’s
family will be receiving friends and relatives at Cobb’s
Funeral Home, 330 White Pine, Riverview (506-869-2007) on Thursday
July 4th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A service to celebrate
Terry’s life will be on Friday July 5th at 11:00 AM at the
funeral home. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation
of Canada or the Canadian Mental Health Association in
Terry’s honour.
