1944 – 2024
It is with deep
sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Rain of Caissie Cape on
Sunday, May 5th, 2024, just 2 days short of his
80th birthday. Born in Moose Jaw, SK, the son
of the late Edsel and Dorothy Rain of Riverview, he will be dearly
missed by his wife of 56 years, Sandi Herman Rain, daughters Kerrilee
Auger (Guy) and Kelli Rain Marshall (Phil), his brother Larry (Bobbi),
sister-in-law Donna Parker, 3 beautiful grandchildren Melanie, Alex,
and Charlie, several nieces and nephews, and a community of friends
who have been like family for decades.
Ron
grew up in Moncton and Sandi was his high school sweetheart and one
true love. He played basketball as a young man and has fond
memories of his “Orr’s Boys” days, and most of the
friends from his youth remained close friends through retirement. His
sense of humour and infectious laugh brought joy to so many throughout
his years.
Known as
“Rockin’ Ron Rain” in some circles, “Lance
Flash” in others, and Pappy to his grandchildren, Ron loved
woodworking, painting, skiing, snowshoeing, playing tennis, cycling,
and spending time with his family and friends at the
beach.
A celebration of
Ron’s life will be organized at a later date. Donations to
the Alzheimer’s Society in Ron’s name would be
appreciated.
