It is with deep devastation that we announce the unexpected
passing of Rodney Ward of Moncton on November 15, 2024. He passed away
at his home of a cardiac arrest at the age of 53, after struggling
with COPD for many years.
Born in Alberta, he was the son of the late Debbie Flanagan
and Irvin Ward.
He will be deeply missed and remembered by his grandmother,
Lilly Glendenning, his sister Rhonda Vautour, niece Natasha Champion
(Aaron Pickett), great-niece Rachel-Rose, great-nephew Roman, uncles:
Leonard Flanagan (Jeanne), Donald Flanagan, and his cousins: Tara,
Melissa, Drew, Adam, Matthew and Melanie.
Rodney will also be missed and remembered by many friends in
his apartment complex and his kind and genuine best friend
Ken.
Aside from his mother, Rodney was predeceased by his
grandfather Harold Flanagan, uncle Danny Flanagan and aunt Susan
Flanagan.
Rodney tried his hand at many different career paths,
spending most time at Hub Meat Packers. He was interested in history,
a true war historian. He enjoyed watching documentaries and engaging
in conversation on the topic. He loved watching movies and going to
the theater. Rodney had a passion for music specifically rock music:
ACDC and Metallica. As well, he developed a keen liking for reading
Stephan King novels. Rodney had fond memories of a family trip to
Jamica where he tried new things, such as swimming with dolphins,
holding a sting ray and dancing with Jamaican girls. Rodney will be
most remembered for his dry and straight to the point sense of humour;
he took great pride in making people laugh. He was a loyal man and
friend. He had great compassion and empathy for others. He was always
willing to lend a helping hand. His absence will weigh heavy on many
hearts.

A funeral service in celebration of his life will take place
at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine
Rd. Riverview (506-869-2007) on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at
11:00am. In lieu of flowers or a donation, in memory of Rodney you can
perform a random act of kindness in his memory.
