Richard Bedford Steeves of Riverview, passed away peacefully
on August 14, 2024 at Spencer’s Memorial Home at the age of
88. Born in Lower Coverdale he was the son of the late Noel and Vera
(Downing) Steeves.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Lorna
(Mouland) Steeves, as well as daughters Lynn (Garth) Nason, Cheryl
Steeves; sons Jason, Derrick and Brent (Tara), brother Wayne (Tanya),
sisters-in-law Mina and Phillis Steeves, 13 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by his sisters Lelia Adair, and Doreen Power; brothers
Winston and Lotan; and grandson Trevor Nason.
Richard began his working career as a Journeyman Printer
before moving into sales; first with Insurance then on to a successful
career in automobile sales. Richard was active in the
Scouting movement with The Town of Riverview as well as The Salvation
Army. He also served on The Riverview Town Council. He was
formerly employed with Atlantic Building Supply Dealer’s
Association. Feeling the Call to Ministry, Richard and Lorna both
served as Pastors in The Salvation Army as well as many years in
Baptist Churches where he still occasionally Ministered well past
retirement.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Cobb’s
Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview
(506-869-2007). Dates and times of visitation and service to be
announced.
Donations made to Trevor Nason Memorial Science Bursary at
Crandall’s University would be greatly appreciated by the
