It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected
passing of Elizabeth (Lisa) Kirsten Mepham on Tuesday, December 17th,
at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Montreal on July 9, 1963, Lisa lived
in Ottawa with her family until the age of 11, when they moved to
Riverview, New Brunswick— which she forever called
home.
In her younger adult years, Lisa lived in Brockville,
Ontario, where she shared countless memorable adventures and
shenanigans with her cousin, Stephen. She later moved to PEI,
discovering her passion for the automotive parts and service industry.
She continued this career path throughout her life, leading her to
Hamilton, Ontario, and ultimately back to New Brunswick, where she
concluded her career at Miller Tire in Moncton. Lisa was a dedicated
and respected worker who above all enjoyed engaging with her
customers. She also entertained kids as the Michelin Tire mascot at
community events, that brought her great joy. She was an avid golfer
all her life and a lifelong Habs fan.
Life presented challenges later in life, as Lisa suffered a
severe concussion in a car accident in 2018, followed by a diagnosis
of Guillain-Barré syndrome in 2021 that significantly
impacted her mobility. She was resilient and brave and fought hard and
succeeded to rebound many times from complications to this complex
condition. Sadly, it took a toll on her health, and she
eventually succumbed to its effects.
Lisa is survived and deeply mourned by her brother, Robert
(Michelle) Mepham of Barrie, Ontario, and sister Marianne
Mepham-Newton (David) of Lower Coverdale, NB, along with her loved and
cherished nieces and nephew, Melissa, Drew, Lexi, and Brittaney. She
was predeceased by her parents, Robert (Bob) Mepham (1996) and Mildred
Power (2010), and her birth father, Milton Trickey (2012), with whom
she was grateful to reconnect with.
Sincere affection is extended to her two best friends, Patsy
from PEI and Mireille from Memramcook whose frequent visits and
heartfelt conversations brightened her world. Additionally, Lisa will
be dearly missed by her beloved rescue dog, Elsa, who was her constant
companion and protector, providing her with immeasurable comfort and
joy every single day.
Special thanks to Dr. Amelie Theraiult and the nurses and
staff of 4200 who provided guidance, comfort, and dignity to all of us
during Lisa’s palliative care.
Fly free, sister. “I would’ve
liked for it to go on a while longer.” —
Pooh
The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Monday,
December 30th, from 2-4 p.m. at Cobbs Funeral Home and Cremation
Center, 330 Whitepine Rd, Riverview, NB. A private graveside service
and burial will take place in the spring of 2025 at Floral Hills
Memorial Gardens on PEI, where she will rest eternally alongside her
father, Bob Mepham. In her memory, donations can be made to the
Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation for the Forgotten
Patient’s Fund, that provides thoughtful gifts, trinkets and
toiletries for geriatric patients who do not have anyone to support
them.
