John Laird of Pine
Glen, NB passed away Sunday, December 21, 2024 at The Dr. Georges L.
Dumont University Hospital Centre. Born in Moncton he was the son of
the late Henry and Margaret (McNiven).
John worked at a vast
array of jobs and usually for himself. His most well-known business
was Laird’s Towing. He loved driving his tow truck, a job he
never retired from. A well-known face in and around Pine Glen. John
could always be found at his office (Tim Horton’s) enjoying
his morning tea with friends. John loved nothing more than
road trips, looking for old cars and just about anything else he could
find that he could repurpose. There wasn’t anything on
wheels he couldn’t fix.
John had many aliases,
some of which were Dad, Grampie Laird, Papa, Uncle John and Junkman.
He truly loved and was proud of all his children, grandchildren and
family. He will be deeply missed by his daughters; Tammie Laird, Karen
Scott, Robert (Pamela) and John Jr. grandchildren; Hailey, Emily,
Walker, Levi, Maggie, Jennifer, Kellie, Justin, Kendyl as well as
several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family extends an
invitation for all to join them at the Pine Glen Community Centre for
a time to celebrate his life. The date and time will be announced at a
later date. John was always generous giving to many charities over the
years. Donations to a memorial of the donor’s choice or
bringing to his Celebration of Life a non-perishable item for a family
in need would be appreciated by John’s
family.
Arrangements are
entrusted to Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330
Whitepine Rd., Riverview (506-869-2007). Online condolences can be
