Emelie Perkison of Riverview, and formerly of Campbellton,
passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, December
27th, 2024. Born in Barryville, NB,
she was the daughter of the late Aimé and Christina
(Brideau) Girouard.
Emelie was a very independent lady, learning to
drive in her 50’s, buying a guitar in her 80’s and
remaining in her own apartment until her 90’s. She
was a gifted seamstress, made the most beautiful wedding cakes, did
income tax returns for just about every neighbour, loved a good game
of cards and enjoyed organizing and doing skits in variety shows for
seniors. Emelie was a good and faithful friend to all, and
her family was her greatest love. Her face lit up, no matter
the aches and pains, when she saw her son, Paul and, she always knew
how much her grandsons adored their Nana.
Emelie will be dearly missed by her son, Paul (Sandra), and
grandsons, Daniel and André and her sister, Cecile Lloyd
(Ken), brothers; Aurèle (Carmen) and Fidèle
(Marjorie), as well as several nieces and nephews. Aside
from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Chester in 2006,
her brother, Henry and her sisters; Annie Doucette, Matilda Kennedy
and Lorinda Bertrand.
The family will be receiving relatives and
friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330
Whitepine Rd., Riverview on Friday from 6-8 PM, with parish prayers
taking place at 7:30 PM. The funeral mass will be celebrated from the
Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Saturday January 4, 2025
at 11 AM. Online condolences can be expressed at www.cobbsfuneralhome.ca
