Dave Cudmore of Riverview passed away on July 5, 2024 at his
cottage on the Amherst Shore. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the
late Emery and Mary (Chamberlain) Cudmore.
Dave may have been a small man, yet his personality was large
and colorful, he always spoke his mind, sometimes when maybe he
shouldn’t have. He loved his family and cared deeply for his
community and customers. Always having their backs and wanting folks
to succeed in life. Dave and his wife Ruth set out on his own and
founded Cudmore Insurance, 1980 – 1996. He served as the
Mayor of Riverview for 3 years, was on the Riverview Town council for
12 years and was a past president of the Riverview Lion’s
Club. He served on the greater Moncton Planning Commission for several
years. He was also a past member of the SENBSA.
He will be missed by his daughters; Rhonda Cudmore (Harlan
Steeves) and Leanne Field (Ed Newhook), grandchildren Tyler (Shannon),
Owen (Katrina), Shelby (Jared) and Mitchell and his partner Nancy
Reardon. Aside from his parents he was predeceased by his wife Ruth
(Nix) in 2012, sister Frances and brothers, Lloyd and Douglas as well
as his four legged buddies Jack and Rocky.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd.,
Riverview on Wednesday from 6-8 PM. A service celebrating his life
will take place from the funeral home on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 11
AM. with Rev. Jonathan Gorham presiding. The internment will take
place in Alderwood Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Diabetic
