Carla Cahill, of
Riverview, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on June 28,
2024 surrounded by her husband and three children.
Born in Moncton, she
was the daughter of the late Douglas and Mae Stoddard. She is survived
by her husband Stephen, son Andrew, daughters: Erin (Ian) Church,
Kelcie and her grandchildren Landon and Ethan. She is also survived by
her sister Angela, brother Terry (Lisa) Stoddard and her nieces: Lana,
Erika, Monica and Emily. Aside from her parents, Carla was predeceased
by her brother Grant Stoddard and her nephew Dana
Mullin.
Carla attended
Riverview High School and continued her education at Dalhousie
University, Acadia University and Mount Allison University. She
graduated with a degree in Psychology in 1982. It was in 1972 that she
met Stephen Cahill. Married in 1974, Carla and Stephen shared 50 years
of devotion. Their marriage was a model of enduring
love.
While Carla worked as
head cashier at Hallidays Hardware, and as a teller at Royal Bank,
CIBC, and the Credit Union she was fiercely proud of her career as
Mom. She demonstrated how to be strong, to face challenges with love
and patience and provided unwavering comfort and acceptance. She
always gave the best hugs. Her most cherished times were together with
her family. Carla will be profoundly missed but her loving spirit will
continue to guide and inspire her husband, children, grandchildren and
all those who were fortunate enough to have been made better by her
presence.
The family wishes to
express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Moncton
Hospital for the kindness and care shown to Carla during her
stay.
In keeping with her
wishes, there will be no funeral service or visitation.
Arrangements are
entrusted to Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330
Whitepine Rd. Riverview (506-869-2007). In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Online condolences may
