It is with great disbelief that we
found the one thing Betsy couldn’t fix.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut to
Richard & Eleanor (Buck) Wolf, Betsy proudly referred to
herself as a Yankee and her heart truly pumped red, white
& blue. She made her way to Acadia University, in Nova
Scotia, where she met her future husband Darryl and the
rest, as they say, was history.
There was nothing Mom
couldn’t do, from baking, sewing, knitting and quilting to
painting, writing and fine furniture building. If anything was broken
the answer was always “Grandma can fix it” even washed-out
roads:)
Betsy was always on the go! Daily
walks around the lake, sometimes more than once if she was trying to
get her “steps” in. If she didn’t answer her phone
there’s a good chance you’d find her at Mount
Royal Church where she practiced Tai Chi, joined in Writers Workshop,
helped with the senior’s luncheon and rarely missed a
Tuesday morning with her special craft group, but don’t call
her crafty or make her read the instructions!
She loved music that made her move,
she even took up ballet as a senior! She was known to drive around
just to listen to Frank Mills music box dancer on cassette one more
time.
However, there was nothing she
cherished more than time with her family. Family dinners, games with
our own rules and laughing until it hurt, were a regular
occurrence.
She leaves behind her children (who
she used to say were her greatest achievements- until her
grandchildren arrived) Chris (Deb), Mary-Beth, Jill (Pierre), Jonathan
(Jess), Matthew (Brianna) and son-in-law Duane Orozco. She
was most proud of her 12 grandchildren; Daniel, Nathan (Ingrid), Will,
Sam, Jack, Elea, Annabelle, Gwen, Morgana, Bryce, Charlie and Julia.
She is also survived by her dear brother, Jay Wolf, brother-in-law
Bill Innes and several special cousins, nieces, nephews and
friends.
She was predeceased by her parents,
sisters; Ronalee Johanssen & Margaret Yacuzzo, sister-in-law
Nancy Wolf and her loving husband, Darryl Innes.
In the tapestry of our memories, she
will forever remain woven with threads of love, laughter, and a
resilience that dementia could never unravel. In the quiet corners of
our hearts, her spirit lives on, an enduring tribute to the remarkable
woman she was.
A special thank you to the staff
of the Geriatric and MIND clinic at The Moncton Hospital,
for the kindness and compassion they showed to Mom and our
family.
Her arrangements have been entrusted
to Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine
Road, Riverview (506-869-2007). A service to celebrate her life will
be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Mount Royal
United Church. Donations in her memory can be made to the
Eleanor Buck Wolf Nature Centre (Wethersfield, CT) (1-860-721-2780) or
