Annette Doiron
1935-2024
Annette passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2024,
at the age of 89 at the Villa Maria, Saint-Louis-de-Kent. Born in
Acadieville, she was the daughter of the late Pascal Thebeau and late
Appoline (Daigle) Thebeau.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate
family.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 68 years, Pat,
in 2022, as well as her siblings: Alban, Agnes, Doraa, Eddie, Medric,
Eveline, Raymond, Leonard, Irené, Vital, Camille, Eliza,
Rose, Rene and Joseph; as well as one granddaughter, Bonnie Doiron.
She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Theresa (Rene) Thebeau, one
brother-in-law, Jules (Rose) Robichaud, and many nieces and
nephews.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Charles (Renee) of
St. Charles, Normand of Richibucto, Richard (Robin) of Scarborough,
ON, and Anne (Darrin) LeGoff of Richibucto.
Her pride and joy were her grandchildren: Patrick, Julie,
Remi (Liane), Michel (Annik), Gabriel, Alex (Arianne) and Emily
(Francois) and her beloved great-grandchildren: Miguel, Kayden, Jania,
Sophie, Caleb, Chloe, Jacob, Caleigh, Amelia, Nora and
Harper.
Memere was known for her loving kindness towards all her kids
and babies, who were always a source of joy and happiness to her. She
would often take them for a weekend away at the Salmon River camp with
Pepere, and they always had a lot of fun (and treats) with a loonie or
toonie given at each visit.
Annette was a very well-known businesswoman. She first
managed the Chalet BBQ in Lakeville, then started the club La Coquille
in 1970, and then the Silver Birch Motel in 1980. Her love of
entertaining and people was excellent for these two businesses; she
often said those were the best times of her life.
After she retired, she volunteered for her church, to which
she was very devout. She had a love of cooking and enjoyed teaching
anyone who showed interest. Her meat pies and bread were “out of
this world.” She managed to raise enough funds with the sale of
these treats to get an elevator installed in the church, and some of
the money also helped to fix the church’s roof. It was very important
to her that everybody was able to enjoy the facilities in the
basement. She didn’t get a chance to use the elevator, as
COVID happened shortly before it was installed.
The family would like to thank all the employees at Villa
Maria for the excellent care they have provided their mom over the
last two years. We truly appreciate everything you did for Mame and
us.
As per Annette’s wishes, there will be no
visitation. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 14,
2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague Roman Catholic
Church in Richibucto.
Arrangements are in the professional care of Thompson’s
Funeral Home, Richibucto (506-523-4252).
