Obituary of Mary Marie Fitzpatrick
Mary Marie Fitzpatrick, née Dawe, born February 9, 1936 in Sydney, Nova Scotia, passed away February 18th, 2024 after a short illness surrounded by her loving, devoted partner and family.
Mary was a woman of many varied passions, such as square dancing, camping, gardening, volunteering, and sewing. She was an integral part of many community associations and clubs, as well as an active member of the church. Anyone who had the fortune to spend time in her home will have fond memories of the love with which she filled her kitchen and our hearts.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Joseph; daughter, Mary, and numerous other family members. She had a large family and left behind many people to mourn her loss and celebrate her memory, including her children, Fred Fitzpatrick (Darlene), Judy Blakney, and Tom Fitzpatrick (Madonna); her partner, Randy Pollick; and her brother Albert Dawe (Lorraine), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grand, great grand, great-great grandchildren and friends that were like family. She was the matriarch of our family and will truly be missed.
Service and interment to follow in Cape Breton will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice.
