Donald Frederick Smith
1933-2024
Donald Frederick Smith of McAdam, NB passed away August 24, 2024 at
the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Donald was born at Manners Sutton,
NB in 1933, a son of the late Frederick and Margaret (Kingston)
Smith.
Dad or Papa was the kindest gentlest man who treated everyone equally.
He was an extremely hard worker who supported his family by working on
the railway for more than forty years and several other jobs. Dad was
not only loved and respected by his family but every person who had
the privilege of knowing him. Papa loved his grandchildren, great
grandchildren and his best friend Samy! We will miss him.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Wanda M. (Buchanan) Smith; his
children, Wayne (Stephanie), Kevin (Angie), Richard (Amanda),Tony,
Shelly, and Pam (Scott); his grandchildren, Stacey (Al), Bradley
(Taleia), Matthew, Ryan, Jamie (Jake), Brayden (Mackenzie), Logan
(Lacey), Shauna, Nathan (Shae), Kyle, Mackenzie, Tyler ; great
grandchildren, Kamdyn, Lauryn, Pierson, Tessa, Bryson, Desmond,
Delilah, Ellie, Jaxon, Edison, Emmerson, Emmet, Jackson, Jessie, Maddy
and Georgia; a great great granddaughter, Everleigh; a brother, Paul
Smith, a sister in law Helen Carroll, Reby Tipping, Mae Brothers,
Susie Bell Curtis (Wilson), Donald Buchanan, and several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by a son, David
Smith, a granddaughter, Morgan and his siblings, Connie Eales (late
Bob), Barbara Swan (late Russell), Mona Hamilton (late Rollie), George
Smith(late Alice) and Wayne Smith, and in-laws in the Buchanan family,
Pat Carroll, Norman Tipping, Laura Day (late Wayne), Harts Brothers
and Belinda Buchanan.
Visiting hours will be held at Voice of Pentecost Church, 82 Harvey
Road, McAdam, NB on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 12 noon until 2
p.m. when the funeral service will be held with Rev. Stephen Tompkins
officiating. Interment will take place at Rockland Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Stacey Cawdle, Matthew Smith, Bradley
Smith, Ryan Smith, Kyle Smith, Jamie Daigle, Logan Daigle, Brayden
Daigle,.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Donald, the family
has suggested Rockland Cemetery.
