Wanda Chandler Obituary
Wanda Beatrice Chandler
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Wanda Chandler, age 76 of Moncton on Monday, March 4th, 2024, at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital.
Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Ada (Wright) Murphy. She would often mention how she had a great childhood, and how she loved that they opened their home to share with those in need.
The most important thing to Wanda was her family. She always ensured during a visit, they’d be welcomed with love, great conversation, and a good meal. Christmas Eve was a special day in her home, where she celebrated, and she served her adored seafood chowder. Her grandchildren affectionately called her, “Grammy” or “Nan”, which was a title she wore with great pride. Everyone who knew Wanda, has heard how highly she spoke of her grandchildren and expressed happiness for all their accomplishments.
Wanda loved spending her time surrounded by her friends and family and some of her best memories were spent with her husband, Dave at their happy place, the lake/trailer.
Playing darts was one of her favourite past times, and she especially enjoyed teaching Youth Darts. With her enthusiasm and expertise, her guidance has even brought her students to compete all over the world.
Wanda has cared for many pets in her lifetime. She would say that their companionship enhanced her life, which fueled her passion to save and rescue animals. She will be greatly missed by her beagle Flynn, and two cats Murphy and Reba.
Wanda will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 39 years David Chandler, and sons Sean Crowley (Pam), Bill Crowley (Hazel) and Richard Crowley (Tracey). She will be forever loved and cherished by her grandchildren Wayne, Shannon, Joey (Janie), Jonathan (Sam), Jenna (Johnny), Hayley (J.T.) Heidi, her great grandson Royce, her brother Dwayne Murphy (Brendena) and several nieces and nephews and lots of friends.
Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Anna Kelly, Winnie Mazerolle, Jimmy Murphy, John Murphy and Carol Murphy.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday March 10 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd. Moncton NB (506-858-1995). Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 11:00 am. Reception to follow.
