It is with sadness we the family announce the passing of our mother Vera Kathleen Erb, 95 of Moncton and formerly of Long Point, King’s Co., on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at K. E. Spencer Memorial Home. Born in Cody’s, she was the daughter of the late James and Daisie (Browne) Kincade.
Vera taught school from 1944 – 1945. She had a foster home for 38 years and she loved the children like her own. She was President of the Foster Parents Association for King’s County and a member of Kiersteadville Baptist Church and Lutz Mountain Meeting House.
Vera made many quilts for her grandchildren, which they treasure.
Vera is survived by her two daughters, Roberta Hayes (Dave) and Debbie McDonald, both of Moncton; three sons, Glendon Erb (Linda) of Woodstock, ON, Roydon Erb (Marilyn) of Rothesay and Kevin Erb (Bonnie) of Medicine Hat, AB; two special foster sons, Mark Sivret (Lee) and John Cunningham, both of Saint John; grandchildren, Dwayne Hayes (Jenn) of Fredericton and Mike Hayes (Randi), of Moncton; Bill (Becky), Jarrod Erb and Jason Erb (Julie), all of Ontario; Tennille (Brad) Janzer and Tyson Erb (Mariah), both of Alberta; Sara Murray (Andrew) of Saint John and Jennifer Erb (Andrew), of Rothesay and Juanita McDonald of Riverview and Joan Hayes of Moncton; 25 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren; sister Joanne Manning (Doug); sister-in-law, Pauline Kincade; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Vera was predeceased by her husband of over fifty years, Roy Erb (1997); sisters, Zelda Carle, Verna Kincade, Donna Varga, Margaret Shaw, Glenna Kincade, Shirley Kincade, Betty Erb, Doris McLean and Velzora Todd; three brothers, Russell Kincade, Ronald Kincade and Norval Kincade.
The family would like to thank the staff at K. E. Spencer Memorial Home, Fernwood Wing for the love and care given to Vera during her stay.
Funeral Service at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995) on Tuesday, March 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Jerry Reddy officiating. Reception to follow the service. Interment, Kiersteadville Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.
In Vera’s memory, donations to Kiersteadsville Baptist Cemetery Fund, K.E. Spencer Home or to a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
