Robert “Bob” Carson Obituary
Moncton, N.B.- It is with great shock and profound sadness that the family of Robert (Bob) Wesley Carson announce his sudden, but peaceful passing on Friday, March 15th at the George Dumont Hospital in Moncton. The eldest son of Lloyd and Helen (MacFarlane) Carson was born in 1934 in Moncton, NB.
He will be lovingly missed by his wife of almost 65 years, Betty (Stuart), daughter Linda Allen, son-in-law Howard Allen of Halifax, NS, grandson Thomas Allen of Aylesford, NS; daughter Carol Joudry, grandsons Sean and Evan Joudry, granddaughter Catherine Joudry of Halifax; brother David Carson (Georgia) of Moncton; several nieces, nephews and many friends and neighbours.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Reginald, his sister Jacqueline Pinder and son in law Robert Joudry.
Bob was a loving, kind, caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle always putting others needs first. Bob and Betty enjoyed travelling by train. They spent a lot of time travelling over the years to spend time with family in Ontario, New Hampshire, St. Kitts, British Columbia, Labrador and Nova Scotia. From a young age Bob loved spending time with his family at Parlee Beach. They enjoyed over 40 years summering at Ocean Surf Trailer Park. He kept very active out with Betty for daily walking, skating and cross-country skiing. He loved nature spending time taking photos, sketching and painting. He embraced new technology with great enthusiasm and took advantage of all it had to offer.
He graduated from Moncton High School. He attended Mount Alison University in Sackville and Teachers College in Fredericton. He taught in Salisbury, NB. Bob went on to work for Swift Canada and retired from the Canadian National Railway in 1994.
Bob was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Hildegard Dr., Moncton. He was actively involved at the St. Andrew’s Park Street location where he served as an elder.
Bob spent many years actively involved with the Masonic organization. He was a member of Keith Lodge No. 23 Moncton, NB, the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and Frank H. Tingley Chapter No.5 O.E.S., Past Patron and other offices including Chaplin and Secretary.
He has been actively involved in the Omista Credit Union serving as a director for 9 years.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 22nd at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Hildegard Drive, Moncton, NB
Interment to take place at a later date at Bayview Cemetery, Albert County.
