Grand-Barachois, N.-B – It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of Murray White, that occurred on December 1st, 2023, at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Amherst NS, Murray is the son of the late Earl and Eileen (Duffy) White and the brother of the late Mary Louise (Lorenzo) Leger of Moncton, NB.
Murray will always remain in the hearts and memories of his wife Pierrette of 20 years and his daughters: Melanie (Chris) Betts, Melissa White, and stepdaughter Carine (Martin) Doiron-Richard. His grandchildren: Brent (Marie), Sam, Bradley (Sage), Ashley, Cedric, Daniel. His 2 sisters: Liz (Paul) Landry of Winnipeg and Lois (Evans) Estabrooks of Fredericton. I’m sure he will be remembered by many brothers-in-laws, their partners, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Murray had pride of saying he worked 31 years in numerous positions as a guard at the Dorchester Penitentiary, giving him a sense of reward for the times spent on that infamously windy and cold hill, some good and some bad. You might have seen Murray within his 7 years working as a Usher for the Moncton Coliseum; where he enjoyed among the best concerts and some of the most exciting hockey in the Maritimes. He took great pleasure in conversations and loved the social aspect of working in that type of environment. As he loved to joke: “It was the only pace I could tell people where to go”.
In lieu of flowers, mass, cards, or donations; Murray ask that his family and friends spend more time together. Murray leaves you with these words:

Visitation will be held from the Passage Funeral Cooperative (625 Mountain Road, Moncton, NB, (506) 855-1145) on Saturday, December 9th from 1 to 4 pm only.
