It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marco Shaw, aged 52, who bravely fought a nearly yearlong battle with an illness. Though he has left this earthly realm, his spirit and memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Marco was born in Moncton, NB, in 1971, the beloved son of Bernice Shaw (Dupuis) and John Shaw. He grew up to be an intelligent and serious person, characterized by his deep intellect and thoughtful demeanor. Marco approached life with a seriousness of purpose, always striving for excellence in all his endeavors.
Professionally, Marco excelled in the information technology realm as a Systems Analyst for over 25 years¸ and more recently at Avenue Code. His intelligence and dedication were widely recognized. He was known for his meticulous attention to detail and his ability to tackle even the most complex challenges with ease. He has had the opportunity to co-author a book on Windows PowerShell, contributed to Microsoft Press and Microsoft TechNet magazine, and also contributed PowerShell-related chapters for other books such as Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and Microsoft SQL Server. He has spoken at Microsoft TechDays in Canada and at TechMentor in the United States. Marco’s contributions to his field were significant, and he leaves behind a legacy of achievement that will be remembered for years to come.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Marco’s true joy in life came from his role as a father. He leaves behind two cherished sons, Samuel (19) and Sébastien (17) who were the light of his life. Though separated from their mother Joanne Boudreau, he held her daughter, Gabrielle Léger, in his heart until the end. Marco’s love and guidance will continue to shape their lives, even in his absence.
Marco embraced the joys and challenges of parenthood with unwavering dedication as a father to his two teenage sons. He embodied strength, patience, and unconditional love, striving to provide them with the best opportunities and guidance in life. His commitment to nurturing their growth and happiness was evident in every aspect of his life. Marco was not only a father to them but also a friend, mentor, and confidant. Whether sharing laughter over family dinners, offering advice during difficult times, or cheering them on from the sidelines of their activities, Marco was their unwavering source of support and encouragement.
In addition to being a loving father, Marco was deeply involved in his community, particularly in youth sports. He often played badminton and tennis with his son Sébastien and he volunteered as a soccer coach for his son Samuel, instilling in them a love for the games and teaching them invaluable life lessons along the way. Marco’s dedication and leadership were recognized by the Shediac Minor Soccer community, where he eventually rose to the position of President which he held for 2 years, tirelessly devoting his time and energy to the betterment of the organization and the youth it served.
In addition to being a badminton enthusiast and dedicated soccer coach, Marco was deeply passionate about tennis. He was an avid player who relished the competition and camaraderie of the sport. Whether he was on the court with friends or participating in local tournaments, Marco’s love for tennis was evident to all who knew him.
