The family of James Joseph White, 72, is sad to announce that he passed away at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre on Wednesday, March 27.
Born in Moncton, and a resident of both Moncton and Pointe-du-Chêne, he was the son of the late Ethel (Hébert) and the late Harry White (LeBlanc).
He will be truly missed by his brother: Frederick (Rickey); his sister: Kathleen (Tim) Borlase; niece: Rachael (Amara Bangura); nephew: Harry (Sophie Tremblay Morissette) and their children: Léon, Ruby and Nellie.
Affectionately known as “Uncle Jimmie” to many, Jimmie lived a noble life, committing himself to a long career in the local newspaper industry and to supporting his friends and housemates with a warm smile and loving presence. Jimmie lived a relatively simple life, but his legacy will be long lived through the generosity and peaceful demeanor that he showed to so many, especially his admiring great nephew and nieces. Never a man to miss a detail (or a bus tour adventure). Jimmie was a man of few words who let his smile do the talking. He will be missed, and continue to be loved, by friends and family near and far.
We are appreciative of the palliative care Jimmie received from Dr. Cynthia Savoie and RN Emilie Labat.
Jimmie’s family will be ever grateful to the entire staff of the Lefurgey Special Care Home. They, under the leadership of Emaly Herron, were unwavering in their love and support throughout his journey of failing health.
A private celebration of Jimmie’s life with karaoke was held at the home with residents, staff and friends on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
The family invites you to sign a book of condolences below.
