It is with much sadness that the family announces the death of Gary R. J. McLellan on July 11, 2024 at the age of 74 years.
Gary is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Yvette (Lirette) and his sisters, Connie McLellan of Sundre, AB, Karen (Michael) MacLeod of Moncton, NB, Joan Marie (Laurence) Nelson of Yellowknife, NWT and Judy Anne (Michel) Cormier of Scoudouc, NB as well as several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Robert and Marion (Monnie Mills) McLellan and his sister, Deborah McLellan-Bourque.
In 1973, Gary married Yvette, his high school sweetheart and they left NB to start their married life in Edmonton, AB so he could continue his university studies. From there, they moved to Yellowknife, NWT where he became the Director, Territorial Housing. They lived there for 30 years.
Gary was a boat enthusiast and he and Yvette shared much of their summers cruising the Great Slave Lake for weeks at a time. In 2018, they chose to move back to NB to enjoy their retirement years.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mario Saulnier for his caring and compassionate guidance to Gary during his journey.
In keeping with Gary’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations to the IWK, CHU Foundation (Oncology), or the charity of choice would be appreciated.
Gary knew he was loved and his family will miss him dearly.
