Shediac, NB – Edmonde Savoie, 100, passed away peacefully at Villa Providence in Shediac, on Saturday June 8, 2024.
Born in Lamèque, NB, she was the biological daughter of the late William “Bill” and the late Lydia Savoie (née Paulin); as well as by the one she affectionately called dad: the late François Savoie.
Edmonde will be greatly missed by her sons: Raoul (Melita) of Bathurst, René (Lucie) of Allardville, Jean (Francine) of Ontario, Eugène (Simone) of QC, Martin (Manon) of Shippagan, François of QC; her daughters: Marie-Mai Noël (Jean-Pierre) of Shediac, Lucienne Savoie of QC, Marcelle Robichaud (Aristide) of Ontario, Léa Mallet (Jean-Victor) of St-Isidore, Huberte “Tina” Jackman of Ontario, Johanne Laprise (late Marc) of Ontario, Hélène Savoie (late Michel) of Scoudouc and Manie Chiasson of Moncton; her son-in-law: Guy Bourgeois of Scoudouc; her daughters-in-law: Marie-Jeanne of St-Isidore and Louisette Savoie of Amqui, QC; his brother: Augustin (Ghislaine) of QC; his sisters: Julie Labonté (Fernand), Anne Bezeau (Émile) both of QC and Andrina (late Rodolphe) of Moncton; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband: Étienne; her sons: Apolinaire “Paul”, Fernand, Jean-Martin (baby) and baby Savoie; her daughter: Gertrude; as well as several brothers and sisters.
Visitations will take place at Passage (3754, route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB, E4R 1T3 (506) 532-1050), on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., then in the evening at Haché Funeral Home (233 Rue 1, Shippagan, NB E8S 1S9 (506) 336-2370) from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. There will be no visitation Friday morning. The funeral will take place at Notre-Dame-des-Flots RC Church (72 Rue Principale, Lamèque, NB E8T 1M7), on Friday June 14, 2024 at 11 a.m., with burial in the parish cemetery.
