Moncton, N.-B – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Chung-Chi (Ken)Wen that occurred on Thursday, October 12th, 2023, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton.
Born in China, he was the son of the late Yuan-Ning Wen and the late Hsu-Yi Tseng Wen.
Chung-Chi worked as a full professor of History at the Université de Moncton until his retirement. He was a fully knowledgeable man, who spoke several languages. He was admired and loved by his colleagues and his students.
Chung-Chi will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Michèle (De Jong) Wen; his two sons: Jean-Francois Wen (Gabrielle Doyle) of Washington, D.C., and Marc Wen (Joanna) of Vancouvert; his daughter, Marie-Ève Wen (Doug Scott) of Russell; his six grandchildren: Sébastien Wen, Aedan Wen, Alice Scott, Samuel Scott, Lucas Scott, and Nicolas Wen; as well as one nephew, Kwan Sen Wen.
He was predeceased by his two brothers: Su-Tung Wen and Pehyun Wen.
A celebration of Chung-Chi’s life will be held from the Passage Funeral Cooperative (625 Mountain Road, Moncton, NB, (506) 855-1145) on Thursday, October 19th, from 10 am to 12 noon.
In memory of Chung-Chi, a donation can be made to the CHU Dumont foundation, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
