Garry Melish Obituary
Garry Melish, born on February 4th, 1954, in Hamilton, Ontario, died in the early hours at his home on January 29th, 2024.
Garry was a kind and gentle man who had a profound impact on those around him. He was patient, loving, and generous with his time, and he was greatly affected by the suffering of those around him. Garry did not have a family of his own; however, the family he chose he loved and cherished, as we did him. Garry suffered hardship, stigma, and barriers to adequate and dignified healthcare and housing, and yet, through all of that, he was a gentleman. Rarely did anyone hear him say a harsh or unkind word about anyone. We lost more than a community member, more than a client, more than a statistic today. We lost Garry. We are all a little less today than we were yesterday because of his death. Garry will be sadly missed by his close friends Jessie, Jeremy, and Vanessa, as well as Ashley, her daughter Amelia, and all of the Ensemble and Rising Tide staff.
Arrangements entrusted to Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd. Moncton (506-858-1995).
A graveside service will be held later in the spring when we can all congregate together to celebrate the life of Garry and the love that we will all carry from our time together.
