It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
Désiré Lirette, 91, formerly of Irishtown,
passed away on Sunday January 7, 2024 at the Villa du Repos. Born in
McDougall Settlement, he was the son of the late Edouard and Rosalie
(McGraw) Lirette.
He will be sadly missed by five sisters: Dorina Cormier
(Alcide), Imelda Poirier (Edmond), Norma Green (Arthur), Rita Gallant
(Paul), and Jeannita Gallant (Francis); five brothers: Henri (late
Viola), Robert (Karen), Camille (Marguerite), Rodolphe (Diane), and
Joseph; two sisters-in-law: Yolande Lirette and Dorothy Lirette; as
well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Doris (2023); two sisters:
Florida and Corinne; and two brothers: Roger and Jean.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the
funeral service will be celebrated on Friday January 12 at 10:30 am.
Visiting hours are Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Friday from
9:30 am until time of funeral. Interment will be at St. Lawrence
O’Toole cemetery in Irishtown. In memory of
Désiré, a contribution to the St. Lawrence
O’Toole Church would be appreciated.
