Richard Carlon McDermaid, of Miramichi, passed away at Miramichi Regional Hospital on October 3, 2024, at the age of 84.
Born in Chatham, he was the son of James and Hilda McDermaid. He spent his career working for Ford Canada and was a member of St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church.
He will be greatly missed by sons Richard (Leah) of Doaktown, and James (Robin) of Fort Erie, ON; brothers Robert of Timmons, ON, Rexford (Jr) of Ottawa, and Charlie of Ontario; five grandchildren Amy, Melissa, Christopher, Nadine, and Jesse; one great grandson Theo; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides parents, he was also predeceased by his wife Evelyn McDermaid, brother Billy and sister Sharon.
At his request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place at St Patrick’s Cemetery.
As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one’s choice.
