Helen Marie (Allison) Waye, of Miramichi, passed away peacefully at Hospice Miramichi, on Friday, February 23, 2024, at the age of 90.
Born in Miramichi, she was the daughter of the late Stilman and Angeline (MacDonald) Allison.
She will be greatly missed by her children Stephen Allison of Cape Breton, NS, Bernice Allison (Meliza) of Calgary, AB, Perry Waye of Slave Lake,AB, Susan Watling (Late Michael) of Miramichi and Gloria “Kitty” Waye (Mark) of Miramichi; six sisters Dorthea (Late James Nowlan) of Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home, Kitty McAllister (Gerald) of Thunder Bay, ON, Grace Carleton (Courtney) of Sunny Corner, Leva Porter (Ralph) of Sunny Corner, Treva Melvin (Late Brian) of Thunder Bay, ON, and Della Hunt (Barry) of Miramichi; two brothers Ted Allison (Lois) and Glen Allison (Carrol) both of Miramichi; eight grandchildren Stephanie, Hermine, Chasity, Natasha, Michelle, Fallon, Jordan, and Brody; many great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Perley Waye; infant son Victor; sisters Thelma, Shirley, and Betty; and brothers Ernest Allison and Merton MacDonald.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Northumberland Funeral Home, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. A graveside service will take place in Boom Road Cemetery at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
