In Loving Memory of Donna M. Read
September 27, 1951 – October 13, 2024
We are extremely sad to announce the passing of our mother, Donna Marie (Stahlbaum) Read, who passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on October 13, 2023, at the age of 73.
Donna, through her growing years loved horses and figure skating. She was a pillar in the community of Kitchener Minor Hockey creating team logos working with teams for fundraising.
She was also a part of umpiring, creating time management through baseball games across the city. Donna gave a lot of her time to minor sports in the community. She had a love for music and will be remembered for how her voice reached every note. She also loved playing the accordion. Christmas was her favourite time of the year.
Donna loved whale-watching and moved from Ontario to New Brunswick to celebrate her love of overlooking the water.
Donna will be missed for her strength and love for her children, and close family friends. She was a family leader with an unprecedented positive impact on her children and grandchildren. She will always be known as the behind-the-scenes cheerleader. Mom loved all of her children unconditionally in her heart, her own way.
Donna is predeceased by her grandparents, Madeline and Emil Hogan; mother, Ethel Stahlbaum; father, Robert Stahlbaum; as well as her brothers: Robert, and Roger Stahlbaum.
Donna is survived by her husband, Brian Read; son, Brian Read Jr.; daughters: Patricia Hall, and Jennifer D’Argenio; brother, Rick Stahlbaum (Laurie), sister, Dianne Stahlbaum; nephews: Ryan, Matthew, and Ronnie; nieces, Jessica, and Dennis; grandchildren: Caitlyn (Justin), Justin, Brittany, Tyler, Brandon, Cody, and Kierstyn; and great-grandbaby, Jameson.
As per Donna’s request, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Donna’s Life will be held in Ontario at a date and time to be announced.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to NB Heart & Stroke would be appreciated by the family.
