Elodie d’Ombrain Obituary
Elodie (Cormier) d’Ombrain of Dieppe died at Albert House on the 11th of September. Born on November 16, 1941 in Little Dover (Memramcook), she was the eldest daughter of the late Emile and Emilienne (LeBlanc) Cormier. She will be sadly missed by Nicholas (Nick), her husband of 51 years, and by three sisters, Aline (Léonce) Gaudet, Julia Gautreau (Normand Doiron) and Phélice Cormier, three brothers, Omer (Roberte), Francis (Jackie) and Eugène (Lillianne), eleven nieces and nephews, eighteen grand-nieces and grand-nephews and by two great-grand-nephews, as well as numerous cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Rhéaldine. Elodie lived in Ottawa for more than 30 years, where she initially worked for members of Parliament and ministers and later worked as a Communications Officer for the federal government. Elodie will be remembered for her integrity and love of life, as well as for her sense of humor and adventure. She was loved by her family and friends and respected by all whom she knew. The family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers at Albert House for the wonderful care provided with respect and compassion. There will be no visitation. A private reception in honor of Elodie’s life will be held at a later date.
