Obituary of Lloyd M. Smith
It is with heartfelt sorrow, the family of Lloyd McLean Smith, husband of Germaine (Cormier) of Quispamsis, announce his passing on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Bobby’s Hospice.
Born on April 13, 1932, in Saint John, he was a son of the late Robert and Sarah (MacGuire) Smith. After Lloyd and Germaine were married in Saint John, they moved their family to Connecticut from 1966-1977. Lloyd was then employed by NB Power for several years in Quispamsis, until his retirement. Lloyd loved to play baseball, and hockey, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Besides his loving wife of 65 years, Lloyd is survived by his sons; Robert (Margaret) of Guilford, CT, and Michael of Quispamsis, grandchildren; Taylor (Sean), and Riley, great grandchildren; Cameron, Calvin, and Scoop, as well as extended family.
Lloyd was predeceased by his parents, his brothers; Maurice, and Earle, and his sister Elsie Lawson.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (505-849-2119). A Memorial service will take place at a later date to celebrate Lloyd’s life. For those who wish, donations in memory of Lloyd can be made to Bobby’s Hospice, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
