Donna Rae Jonah
1957-2023
Peacefully and surrounded by her
husband and children, Donna Rae Jonah passed away at her home in
Hillsborough on November 10th, 2023, at the age of
66.
Born in Moncton on May 27th, 1957, she
was the daughter of the late Ray and Gladys (Butler) Lutes. She is
survived by her husband of over 20 years, Denis Simpson, her children;
Allison (Carole) & Elizabeth (Noel), Melissa (Shane) &
Jeremy (Sarah), her mother in law, Lorna, her brother Greg (Sue), and
her grandchildren; Jonah, Will, & Nora, as well as many
extended family friends.
Our mum was a loving member of the
Hillsborough community, a place where she settled and raised her
family. She was a nurturer by nature and would show love and
compassion to anyone in need. She was at her best when she was able to
give her love and care away. Passionate about the welfare of animals,
Mum rescued and cared for many cats who called her property home. In
lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Donna’s name to
Carma – Cat Rescue Maritimes Moncton Chapter.
The family extends its love and
gratitude to the nurses from the extra-mural program, who helped
support our mum and provided her comfort and the ability to stay at
home, as well as the nurses, technicians, and doctors for their
support in the last months.
In keeping with her wishes, there will
be no visitation or service.
