Obituary of Susin Brebner
On January 2nd, 2024, Susin D. (Fletcher) Brebner passed away peacefully at the palliative care unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Grand Falls, NB, on August 6th, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Earle and Pauline (MacDonald) Fletcher, and beloved wife, of 52 years, to William “Bill” Brebner.
Susin worked as a teacher’s assistant and as a day care assistant for most of her career. She loved children, especially helping the “at risk” children, and giving them care and assistance that they required. Keeping busy was something Susin liked to do, and she enjoyed reading, being outside, walking, sewing, cooking large meals, painting and undertaking renovations. Some of Susin’s most significant accomplishments were her family, and being a mother to her beloved children. Whenever someone in the family needed a person to talk to, Susin would make herself available to listen, and just be there for them, no matter what the circumstances were. When needed, she would also try to cheer those she loved up with a hug and/or kiss.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, Bill; daughters, Sarah Jane and Heather Stacy Brebner; siblings, Dallas Fletcher (Sharon), Elaine Olson, and Carole Frank, as well as many close friends and extended family members.
A memorial service will take place from the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Monday, January 8th, 2024, at 2pm, with the Ven. John Sharpe officiating. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
