Obituary of Paul William Craig
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Paul William Craig, a resident of Island View, NB, who left this world on November 15, 2023, at Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on October 10, 1941 in Fredericton NB, Paul was the beloved son of the late Geraldine (Bird) and Gerald Craig. He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Jane (Steen) Craig.
Paul enjoyed his career in Industrial Automation and Controls as Vice President and Atlantic Canada Manager of ControValve Equipment. Beyond his career, he was known for his passions for painting and cooking. Together with his wife, Betty, they enjoyed winters in Florida and summers at their cottage on Lake George. They also travelled extensively, making new friends everywhere they went. Paul was very dedicated to his family and took great joy in his grandchildren. He had a thirst for knowledge which he shared with everyone. He loved to know what was going on in the world and he always gave his two cents worth about it. He was quite the comical character and knew how to make you laugh. Paul made a great impression on everyone he met and we will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his loving sons Jeff Craig (Cindy) and Brent Craig (Maria Mattia); granddaughters Ashlee Craig, Marci McCloskey (Branden), Sarah Craig (Jesse Wu), and Jennifer Craig; as well as great-grandsons Max and Cohl. Paul was predeceased by his brother, Malcolm Craig.
A brief Celebration of Life will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB, on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at 1:45 pm. Immediately following, a visitation will be held from 2 to 4 PM. Those who wish to commemorate Paul’s life may make remembrances to the charity of their choice. Personal condolences can be shared at www.yorkfh.com.
